1) When David visits and smiles at me. (Makes me remember the good parts of being a Mom)
2) Friends, new and old, who laugh at my horrid jokes...
3) Friends, new and old, who make me laugh as well.
4) Memories of green velvet and black patent leather shoes, dressing up to see The Nutcracker with my Dad on a freezing Chicago night. Three years in a row, he'd drive us into the city, and it always seemed to special.
5) Tactile memories drawn out by smell... being able to walk past other people's apartments and smelling pork chops like my Grandma used to make, wondering if the people living there are making happy memories like mine.
6) Finding new places to chat with friends... a Starbucks around the corner, or a tapioca tea parlor on the other side of the state, it's the process of making it 'ours' for a few hours, to sit and chat and laugh that's important to me.
7) Amine, for opening my imagination to all the possibilities
8) Yaoi, for showing me the possibilities weren't only in my head... it's in a lot of others as well!
9) My little car, for not breaking down like it really should have on the drive to Dallas and back... heh
10) Family, for being family even when I didn't deserve it.
Runners up:
*Caffeine! Coke, Code Red, Vanilla Coke, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper... just not Pepsi
*Chocolate
*Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches on cold days... another tactile memory, that
*Dancing in the rain
*Watching the mist that floats around distant street lamps at midnight, and knowing there's a poet in my soul
