Carpe Diem (Seize the Fish!)
Feb. 27th, 2003 02:58 amThis was my day at work. Roughly six o'clock, only been there two hours...:
Viv: I just won two Rodeo tickets in the raffle.
Me: Cool!
Viv: ...for tonight.
Me: Ouch. Gonna go?
Viv: Well, I'd hate to not use 'em, but no one else can go, and we'd have to leave right now. I just don't want to go alone.
Me (picture a kind'a cloud-shaped thought bubble here): Work... Cowboys... Work... Tight, dirty jeans... Work... Leather... Work... Sweat... Work... Sweaty Cowboys in tight, dirty jeans and leather
We were half way to there before I asked who was playing tonight.
Viv: Martina McBride
Me (again, thinking): ....who?
It was a blast! The cowboys didn't let me down at all ^_~ (The cowgirls could kick all out asses, so they were cool too.) And it turns out I knew one of McBride's songs after all! (Independence Day. She also covered Harper Valley PTA and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I knew those.) Damn that woman's got a hell've a voice. I'm impressed.
Got back to the office (where I left my car) around midnight, so I went in and finished my shift. Gonna look odd on my time sheet this week, having a huge six hour lunch on Wed. ^_~
Now, however, I can feel the blisters trying to rise up from wearing the wrong kind'a shoes, so I'm gonna go catch up on Buffy and give 'em a soak.
(Edit: Humph. Looks like I punched in the wrong number tuesday, no Buffy. :( I'll catch up on Smallville instead.)
