Item the first, I didn't sleep a wink last night... I blame Sushi and her incredible new Harry/Snape story which I couldn't stop reading, The Last Battlefield (a new chapter in her Civil War epic. (It was one of the first HP fics to really drag me kicking and screaming into the fandom, and her snarky, bitchy Snape sent me head over heals for the git. ^_~)

Item the second, said lack of sleep caused major brain dysfunction at work today, leading to my brewing a concoction of two full scoops of instant coffee mix, combined with just enough hot water to dissolve said gunk, then fill the rest of the mug with the sludge that passes for coffee from the office machine.  (After the third cup, I could no longer feel my tongue.)

Item the last, there was a package from mizzykitty waiting for me when I got home, with ladydouji's hat, her AnimeFest con badge and my MOVE cd!  Yay! *hugs*

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the caffeine overload out of my system in time to actually sleep tonight, and somehow still wake up before the apt office closes tomorrow to renew my lease. >.<;;

not so bad as all that

This week's HP100 challenge is to write about the Room of Requirement, and I like the drabble I came up with, so I'm gonna spam you lot with it too. ^_^*V*


Running, mindless, black robes hiding vomit, blood, gore, Severus searched for a hiding place. Anywhere away from what he'd just done, just seen; the initiation, the pain, the others laughing behind their white death masks.

Lucius never said... a lot of things, apparently, and the taste of bile again rose in his throat.

He had to THINK, but where? Suddenly a memory came to him, that room he'd found, always full of whatever he needed, whatever the problem he faced. Surely, there...

But it stood empty. Like him, hollow... Till something crunched beneath his shoe.
