Jun. 2nd, 2004 06:29 pmI’ve had some friends urging me to see Troy for a while now, and yeah, they’ve gone on about the fight scenes, etc., but I’d heard how they’d messed with the script and wasn’t really interested.
Then violentlyunholy gave me her review last night, which went something like this:
My god, girl, Brad Pitt’s ass was like this... And his back? And then there’s this scene where he’s bathing, and the towel’s down to HERE! *imagine the hand motions*
Needless to say, I saw Troy before work today.
And yeah, let’s hear it for hot sweaty muscled men in leather skirts. The fighting rawked, making my gamer grrl heart all aflutter. Dude, the shield work alone made me squee. The heroes were what heroes are supposed to be.
Pitt and Bean and hell everybody (except for Bloom) did some great acting, but ya know what? I fell for Paris. Hard. The character was a complete woobie. Apparently the hopeless romantic in me isn’t as dead as I thought it was.
Would I go see it again in the theater? Probably not. But was it entertaining for what it was? Yes.
