I hate it when they do that

Went in to the dentist today, got the last of it taken care of (now I should only need to go in for regular type checkups.) It wasn't fun, but it had to be done, and I'd requested the day off of work so I wouldn't have to worry about trying not to drool on my keyboard while my mouth was still numb.

Guess who just called asking where I was... >.<;; My supervisor's the one who OK'd the day off, but did he write it down? Noooo... 'Course, he remembered after I reminded him, but aparently for a couple hours they thought I was a no-show at work!

Luckly it's straightened out now. Man, I knew I should'a called in anyway....

Goodbye Superman

I was living in Charlotsville VA back in '95, when Christopher Reeve had his riding accident. An overgrown college town, it was also the closest medical center to where he'd been thrown and for weeks we were overrun by news reporters on death watch. At the time all I really thought about was the immediate inconvenience, and I'd never been that big a fan of the actor... it wasn't till afterwards that my opinion changed.

He earned the title Superman.
