oops, almost forgot
Dec. 5th, 2004 10:18 pmThis arrived in my in-box earlier and I'd meant to pass it along...

Subject: freelance art work
Came from one of my author lists today:
If you write YA, you already know how big manga is getting as a publishing
genre. The biggest publisher, Tokyopop, now has information on their
website for submissions from non-Japanese artists and writers in the areas
of romance, comedy, horror, or fantasy (except superheroes). They are not
looking for written stories alone. They are looking for manga samples -- 8
panels or so of graphic novel format work, using the very standardized
drawing and pacing conventions for manga, that also show the ability to tell
an interesting story. For details, see
http://www.tokyopop.com/aboutus/
If you are not familiar with this kind of publishing, someday check out some
work by Clamp.

*grin* Ya know, I think a couple of us here might be familiar with that kind of publishing...
