What? I can't hear you!
Jul. 25th, 2005 07:40 pmWhere to start on last weekend... ladydouji stopped by to borrow HBP and we ended up having a girls only afternoon, full of movies and cheesecake and shopping. Completely unexpected, but just what the doctor ordered.
Later that night CZ picked me up and we headed downtown for the Speakeasy. The club has been around since Prohibition, and you can really feel the history. Exposed brick and beam, aged brass fixtures, candles everywhere... I gotta admit, I was impressed. Then the music started.... Now don't get me wrong. The Tommy Hall Schedule does a hell of a tribute to the 13th Floor Elevators, but acid rock is just not my thing. Still, it's not like it had me running for the doors, and everything else was a blast! (It's not public indecency if you don't get caught, right?)
The next afternoon was mostly taking care of errands, but come dinner time I was able to tempt CZ back over with the promise of pizza. (Anchovies... blech.) We put on Training Day (I hadn't seen it before! What a movie!) and then we had to watch the Chapelle Show spoof with Wayne Brady.
Good food, good friends... yeah, another good weekend. And it only took a couple hours for my hearing to come back after that noise Saturday night. ^_^*V*
