Time for a new icon! Here's Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, with what has to be one of my favorite quotes in the series.

Speaking of, twas watching more Sharpe last night. Imagine my suprise when Alexis Denisof turned up on-screen! (Wesley Wyndam-Pryce from Buffy and Angel, for those playing the home game.) The poofy hair threw me, but there's no mistaking that voice. Paul Bettany turned up as well as the Prince of Orange. He's always fun.

In a nutshell it's an English series of TV movies based on the books by Bernard Cornwell and staring Sean Bean, about a grunt in the English army who, during the war against Napoleon, rises through the ranks. It's action, adventure and romance all rolled into one, starting with Sharpe saving Lord Wellington's life and getting promoted to Lieutenant. He then has to deal with the other officer's disdain because he wasn't a born gentleman, and the soldiers mistrust because he isn't a "proper officer". Very well written and engaging, despite the TV movie budget.
