A friend at work lent me her copy of the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary at Albert Hall cd's, and I got such a kick out of recognizing Takeshi Kaga at the end. (Yes, the same Kaga from Iron Chef.)

Ok, he was the only one singing in Japanese, but still...

In other news, one of the things I've missed most about Austin was the Alamo Draft House Theater. A full dinner theater, playing movies while serving burgers/pizza/beer. (I saw Fritz the Cat there, and they were always having gimmicks... For Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, they gave away candy bars with the chance to win something from a local toy store.) Anyway, I just found out tonight that there's an Alamo here in Houston! Not sure how long it's been around, but apparently it's in West Oaks Mall.

Hey! Austin is now my new favourite city in Texas! My sister found a place in the Alamo plaza that sells Australian tomato sauce! (long story about addiction and suffering that is really pathetic...trust me on this)

I moved away about 5 years go, and I still miss Austin. 'Course, it was -just- starting to get the name "Silicon Hills", and it felt like half of California was moving in... It's probably completely different from when I bopped around town on the buss all day. *pout*
