And yes, she did cry. I'll even admit to getting a little misty-eyed myself.
In other news, I was cleaning up the front room earlier and found my old year book. Seems I do this about once a year, sit down and look at it, remember and wonder where the hell they are now...
My Junior year in High School I went to Downers Grove North up near Chicago. That one year, from 88-89, left me with more memories that the other 11 years put together.
That was the year I busted both my ankles in gym the same day Fiddler on the Roof opened, and had to work assistant stage manager stuck on my ass with both ankles wrapped like mummies. (Messed up my knees too... they never did heal right.)
Did Kim Ashley ever become a professional pastry chef? I remember she'd broken her arm... we were the gimps of PAC (the group that ran the theater.)
Did Andi Jones even graduate school? (She said someone in the bathroom had slipped drugs into her aspirin bottle, but come on... Like theater geeks can't get drugs.)
*sigh* Chrisi Kladder... There are so many things I tried to explain, so much more I wish I'd done...
Did John Mariana ever visit Dallas? (He was a Kennedy/Grassy Knoll fanatic, iirc he was even trying to write a book about it. I think he had tourettes. Sweetest guy... *snerk* His dad was driving us around one night and got pulled over for speeding.)
Did Kendra Williams keep up with her drawing? ('Could'a been published in Elfquest by now, for all I know. Never had good taste in guys, though... liked 'em complicated.)
Last I heard, Christopher (Indy) Forsee was in the military... Germany I think? (This was one of Kendra's complications. Then again, Indy was a trip. He'd sew rabbit pelts to his vest just to get a rise out of the animal lovers in class.)
There are so many others... Ruben Valadez, Jil Bernard, Lewis Schoen, Laura Amsler, Tom Karounos... (There's more, but their handwriting's crap and I can't make out what they wrote in the yearbook.)
It's been 15 years. I've been married, spawned, divorced... shattered, fixed, and degreed with honors. Are they even still alive?
