The sallow man looked even sicker, more pale, wincing at the twinkle in the headmaster's eye.
"You don't understand. I've lost my... Someone's taken..." He licked his dry lips, trying again. "I require certain wards, a specific... charm, to keep me safe at night. I don't dare sleep till I've found it again."
Dumbledore leaned closer, concerned. "If you mean Voldemort, surely..."
"No. Tell me Albus, have you ever met a vengeance demon? Anyanka first appeared to me..."
