Last night, around 3ish, my computer decided it didn't like the new driver for my dvd burner, rebooted, but refused to run Windows. So it just kept rebooting, over and over again.

Even I could tell this wasn't good, so I tried to make it go to safe mode, 'cause WinXP is supposed to have a restore system thingy.

No safe mode.

SO! I reload WinXP. But, since I didn't want to overwrite the files I already had on the computer, I loaded it to a different folder...

and now I have it on here twice. >.<;;

The first version, should I try to access it, still does the reboot over and over thing. The second lets me access everything, including the old "Windows" folder with all my old files... it's just taking up an incredible amount of space.

The Windows support line opens at 6am Pacific time on Sundays, which is 8am here. Being 5:30, I decide a couple hours sleep might be good before trying to explain what I'd done to the tech guy. As it is, two hours sleep just made me babble his ear off... and all he said was I did pretty much the only thing anyone could have done. Go me. -_-;

Finally got off the phone with him around 10:30, napped on and off till 2, then tracked down ladydouji to get the drivers I needed for the modem from her.

And while I have my files, there's nothing else loaded 'cept the modem. Nothing.

I'll fix it tomorrow, 'cause I'm dead tired.

Considering my computer's running via duct tape and chicken wire, I wouldn't be surprised if it started smoking any day now and turned into a giant, expensive door stop.

On the other hand, I hit Planet Anime and was able to find a Wufei pin I didn't already have. Wufei always makes things better. ^_~ And Once Upon A Time In Mexico rocked like a great big huge rocking thing. I've gotta own this (-and- the soundtrack!) when it comes out.
