zebralittle52Every time real Anime gets shown on the big screen I make it a point to venture out into that evil thing called 'sunlight' and see it. Just doing my part to support the effort to bring it to America... or something. Princess Mononoke, the Kenshin ova, whatever happens by. (No, Pokemon does NOT count.)
Thus, yesterday, I found myself thankful for stadium seating as some friends and I settled in to watch the Escaflowne movie.
Geeze, and I thought reading Mary Sue fanfics were bad enough, try *watching* one!
Sure, I'd been warned. Ryu Itsutsu gave me a long list of wrongs to steel myself against, but even that hadn't prepared me for whiny, suicidal Hitome. The only Shojo heroine with the balls to say no to panty shots, and they do that to her! What a waste!
However, there is a plus side. All the cute guys got hit upside the head with the HOT stick. Van the hot, blood thirsty savage, Dryden the... well, he's Dryden. ^_~ Poor, poor D-sama, so yummy and hurt. Mmm, even Allen, who normally makes me cringe. (He finally grew into his action hair!) And Gaddes. Oooh, what a man, what a stomach... trust me, I could go on.
Kouji: *humphs* You just got a thing fer second-in-command's who say "Yes, Boss."
And since there was no Celena in the movie, I thought I'd dig out an old link to share. 'Scars on the Heart'by Sarah-neko, Celena/Gaddes... She gets put on trial for Dilandau's war crimes. (http://members.tripod.com/sarahneko/prettyboy/scars.html) Warning: There's het, but only a little bit, and it's worth the read anyway.
