My Christmas in a bloody big nutshell.

Headed out Wednesday with the mission Find A Juicer. You’d think those stupid little tin things Grandma always used to squeeze oranges with would be easier to find, but no ooo. Finally found one, and headed for Kelrick’s. Met the super sweet man that is Kelrick, was reunited with hurricane GioGio, went on a quest to find an open restaurant for dinner the night before Christmas (ended up at Katz’s, ‘cause Katz’s ne ver Closes), and was then put to work on Dinner Prep. Many a carrot died in the pursuit of the perfect sauce, but it was worth their sacrifice. Yes, the onions made me cry, but I let my aggression out on the beans, so it all worked out in the end. Watch the extra large bottle of white wine fall before the might of Gio’s superior forces, and we then settled down to watch The Trick. (We actually started to watch that movie a couple times over the next few days. Never actually managed to finish it, thoug h.) Dedagda dragged in pretty late, and gifts were exchanged. Gio gave me the niftiest bohemian bag, all orange and patterned, with mirrors sewn in here and there. I had planned on copying my Babylon 5 cd’s for her, but my computer went tits up before I had the chance :( Soon it was time for all good girls and boys to go to bed, but we decided to go as well.

I honestly wish I could remember all the people I met over Christmas Dinner, and then later at the club, but the beer/wine/white russians have all conspired against me. There were one or two I really wanted to keep in touch with... I think? (It got rather fuzzy there towards the end.) There were a ton and a half of people, though, and everyone seemed to have a blast. We’d worried the day before it there was going to be enough to eat, but it wasn’t a problem. Watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail while digesting makes for an interesting combination... I’m not sure laughing that hard while t hat full’s considered a good thing or not. ^_~ Eventually, everyone was mobile again, so off we went clubbing! Well, ok, not really clubbing, more like “Let’s freak Gio out with Country Kareoke.” It worked.

I’ve never understood people going shopping between Thanksgiving (Halloween if you can manage it) and New Years. The crowds get horrendous! So where did we go first thing, the day after Christmas? (Yes, by now we’re all one giant c ollective. Gio, Kelrick, Zanyzounds, and lots more who I don’t have their LJ handles yet. It you’d been there, you too would have been assimilated.) Ikea! It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, I guess... didn’t exactly have that salmon swimming up stre am feel to it. Then it was off to Dare Wear, to visit Deadrat (who’d been at Christmas Dinner) and look at adult toys. I did pick up a pin that reads “I do what the voices in my head tell me to do.” It’s now up on the cork board with the rest of it’s i lk, right next to my Boramir card from FotR. Appropriate, no? Then it was burgers at Prince’s and the new Peter Pan movie. Loved loved loved each and every Capt’n Hook scene, loved the kiddo they found to play Peter, want to write very wrong things wit h them involving the corruption of innocence. Wound down the day back at Kelrick’s, watching The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. (Who, having grown up in the 80’s, can click past The Breakfast Club without stopping to watch at least a little bit?) It was decided Kelrick, Gio and I were going to Dallas the next day, so I called up Wrenlet to let her know. It’d hard to plan a proper kidnapping, ya know.

.<;; I leave for one night, and they blow the place to hell!) Anyway, we successfully kidnap the every lovely Wren, have dinner with Dedagda and friends, and proceed to go clubbing. (...fun.) After which I take Wren back home and try to sleep. (Underline try, ‘cause I don’t think I ever really managed to drift off.)

And I’m driving again, onl y the scenery in reverse. Go me. Kelrick and Gio napped in the back seat for a good ways, and then Gio came up front and I got revenge for the clubbing by inflicting my Ayumi Hamasaki (J-Pop) CD on her. There was more driving, and then ice cream, and t hen the airport. Kelrick and I had a really nice talk as I got him home. (I don’t come across well in crowds, I know. One on one is much more my style.) Then I went home to crash. Only problem was, it was way to early to sleep! So I ended up watching Ran instead. >.<;;

All in all, I had a wonderful Christmas! *hugs all around* Definitely something I’ll never forget.ˇ
