Here’s a quick summary of last weekend’s game. Again, beware of the spellings... Why can’t more characters be named Bob?

Ah, Myra... where to start? This is a relatively young Dwarf, of the new, rebellious generation who’s more interested in fun and adventure than staying in the mountain. She laughs while fighting, and would rather be drinking or training than almost anything. She and her twin brother are both out in the world looking for a stolen family heirloom, but she hasn’t seen her brother in a while... and, to be honest, she isn’t exactly looking that hard because that would mean having to go back home and stop having fun.

Currently she’s traveling with the paladin Gerrero (very much the lawful paladin type), the rogue Eldon (rogue doesn’t do this guy justice... try kleptomaniac), and the druid Greywolf (who has pyromaniacal tendencies when drunk.) Quick summary: They’ve stumbled across the plans of some evil organization called Entropy that seems to be experimenting in dark magics, and the paladin has been charged by his church to investigate. One thing has lead to another, and they found that some pirates in the area have been working with Entropy... so they get hired by a ship hoping to run into these pirates, the paladin wanting to capture and interrogate, etc.

Myra wasn’t exactly happy to be on the boat. This was the first time she’d been completely surrounded by so much water, and frankly it freaked her the hell out. Wasn’t natural at all! But they had rum, so hey... The paladin kept trying to chat up the ship’s spell caster while Greywolf was out swimming with the dolphins. They’d been out a few days when another ship approached. The druid changed himself into a bird and flew off to investigate.

Sure enough, pirate ship.

While our ship was getting ready for a fight, Gerrero came up with the idea of trying to sneak around and board the pirate ship from the opposite side, trapping the pirates between two fronts. Only problem was, his plan meant going under the water to get around their ship unseen! He wanted the dwarf to hang onto a dolphin with him, be drug under both ships, then climb up the side of the pirate ship and into the fray. Great plan... except Dwarves and water don’t exactly mix. But! Between a ring of water breathing, spider climb, and the promise of one hell of a story to tell her lover when she gets back, off she went.

By the time they got onto the other ship, the good spellcaster, Eldon and Greywolf had managed to create bloody chaos. The rogue had swung his grappling hook over a yardarm and used the hook to snag one of the enemy under the jaw, hefting it into the air like a fish. Their ship’s mast was on fire, a swarm of pirates were circling Eldon (who’d launched himself across the water on a catapult) and the pirate spellcaster.

The paladin yelled “Surrender now!” The dwarf yelled “Die now!” The Paladin yelled “Err... Surrender or face her!”

Running into the fight, it seemed near impossible to lay a hand on the pirate caster, but she had a lot of fun trying. The druid was calling down lightning, the paladin, dwarf and rogue swung their blades, and soon she was a crispy husk. Most of the few pirates left jumped into the water, but one ended up down inside the ship on the second level. Myra, naturally, jumped in after him. He didn’t last long. Suddenly one of the last pirates jumped down after her. “Help me! I don’t want to die... That paladin, he’s crazy!” She just grinned. “HE’S crazy? I’ll give you to the count of five to give me a good reason not to kill you. One. Two. Five.” He didn’t last long.

We’d managed to capture the pirate captain, so the paladin was happy. There was rum, so everyone else was happy. The next day at sunrise, Gerrero gave a prayer for the fallen... Myra paused to listen before heading off to bed.

The rest of the trip was uneventful, and we eventually docked. Myra was so happy she kissed the ground. And that’s where we wrapped things up.
