Friday Five
Aug. 2nd, 2002 01:45 pmLike a good little lemming, I go...
1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?
I'm equal parts Irish, Sicilian, Polish and Slavic, with big fisherman's arms and the freckles to prove it.
2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit?
Tough call... It's a toss up between Ireland and Sicily (with a long tour of Italy while I've over there.)
3. Which would you least like to visit? Why?
Well, there is that whole "unrest" thing in the Slavic countries, ya know...
4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage?
For New Years we always had pickled herring for luck. (Nasty ass fish in a gloopy white sauce.) I think that's about it.
5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)?
I think my great grandparents on my Dad's side came over first, around the turn of the century, then my Mom's side of the family came over around the first world war.
