I'm not planning to do it. I'm paranoid about putting that information in one place, though I'm also not going to kid myself - if someone wants to find me, they will. However, I don't make phone posts and if I ever get pathetic enough to threaten suicide I'm of the opinion that it'd be in the interest of the greater good to let me gack myself, so it doesn't really apply.

Sounds like it might have been well-intentioned, but good grief. I agree with the commenter who asked, why not just add your SS# while you're at it? LJ wouldn't have FAQs like, "Someone broke into my LiveJournal account!" if that were not a possibility.

Yeah, I tend to be pretty cynical about things like this when it comes to the internet. = \ But some people are maybe a little too trusting? Just my .02...
