Sometimes you've gotta grab onto the good news when you can... Houston's mayor had a news conference this afternoon, asking for volunteers to help deliver water to the people stuck in their cars out on the freeways. The temp today was over 100 degrees, those people had been sitting, baking, all day long... Within 20 minutes, over 350 people had turned out to help. They filled city buses to overflowing with bottled water, 15 volunteers per bus, and headed out.

Yeah. Sometimes this city isn't so bad.

Just wanted to say for you guys to stay safe. Let me know how it works out for both of you and did anyone actually show up to work on Thursday? Well, we can talk after Rita has left...just wish I knew when that will be. Watch out for flying crap and we will do the same.

Ya'll stay safe too! It looks like the bitch is gonna hit Louisiana instead, but who the hell can really tell... There were maybe 5 people in on Thursday, no proof-readers at all, and I was out of there by 9:30. Keep your heads down, and I'll catch ya'll next time.

I know that Louisiana does not need another hit but L and I don't want it to happen to Houston either. That is what I hate. I feel relief when it starts turning away but then feel horrible because this whore of a storm is going to plow itself into some poor person's backyard. I bet that most people did not show up just out of spite. I think that was partly my reason. I told L that I don't give a shit about the upper management, i.e. W and BB, but I am concerned about all of the people that we work with on a day-to-day basis. I'm worried that JM and Peaches were caught in all that traffic and I'm glad that Secondmoon gave up and went home before it was too late. Oh well, stay safe and we are going to do the same. Also, I don't know about you but I'm already starting to get my drink on and tell C to enjoy his smokes.
