where have I been?
Nov. 14th, 2005 03:05 pmNot exactly a lot to report...
Home life's settled into a pretty nice routine, lots of random movies on TV, music, a book now and then. CZ's taste in music (and movies, and TV) is a little more eclectic than mine (though he'd probably say the same thing about me,) but we've found plenty of middle ground so far.
The house is going to take forever to get sorted, but I think making some kind of little goal each weekend will get it eventually under control. Last weekend was gather up all the trash, next I'm thinking shift crates around so all the records and books are at least in the same room... that'll make enough elbow room we can get the furniture that his mom willed to other people out of the house. And once that's out of the way, we can start soundproofing a room upstairs for music practice (which will hopefully satisfy our neighbor enough he'll stop threatening to call the police 'cause of the noise.)
Apparently CZ's family is big about getting together for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it'd probably be good for me to meet everyone again somewhere that's not a hospital or funeral home, but I've never been big on family gatherings so... well, it'll be interesting. Can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I'll live.
The boy is supposed to be over this Saturday... I'm thinking either the Alamo or a nice lunch that we can call Thanksgiving. Gonna have to try and get a list of potential Christmas gifts out of him too 'cause there's no telling what he'll be wanting this year.
