Update, thy name is Wheee!

There really hasn't been a whole heck of a lot to post about lately, just going through the grind and really, who wants to hear about "Today I scrubbed the bathtub"? Though last night I did an interesting experiment with the deep fryer... I'd picked up one of those onion ring mixes and dipped a batch of onions, mushrooms and pickle slices. The onions turned out the best, I think, but the mushrooms where's bad either. The pickles weren't bad, but could have probably been drained a while longer before going in the batter.

A ton of wonderful Christmas cards have come in the mail already... Kit's is beautiful as always, Jet's brought a smile... and I almost feel bad about deciding to skip sending cards this year. But with everything going on, the funerals and, just everything, Christmas is on hold till next year. But huge Thank You's to everyone, and you're definitely on my list the next time around!

The BIG news today is we got a call from the mortgage company (after dropping Bank of America as useless... our loan officer had apparently just transferred over from FEMA)... *drum-roll* provided the fax machine doesn't eat the house survey again, we could close as soon as Friday! Which means, come next week, I could be a homeowner! .... *hyperventilate*

Thanks. ^_^ On one hand I'm really scared 'cause, dude, responsibility. But on the other hand it's like locking in my monthly rent for 30 years, and the way rents been skyrocketing around here... So yeah, it's a good thing.

I'd never would'a tried the fried pickles if a friend hadn't ordered 'em at the movies a while back. I've had 'em fried up in spears and rounds, and so far I think I've liked the rounds better... I think next time I'm at the store I'm gonna stock up on other kinds of veggies to try. Zucchini and Eggplant and... *drools*
