Yay, yay, gawd, yay
Jun. 16th, 2006 11:09 pmLet's start with some Yay, shall we? I was able to duck out of work a couple hours early and hooked up with LadyDouji for some serious mall-crawling. (Yay.)
She picked up some shoes, whereupon I discovered the most hideous, evil looking pair of butt kicking pointy shoes I've ever seen. Brown leather... it had designs... and I must own a pair. They're too awful to resist. But I was good and walked away. If they're still there in a week or so, then it was meant to be. (Honestly, I can't imagine anyone else buying these things. We're talking Wicked Witch of the West evil shoes.) And then, as an unexpected birthday treat, I got treated to my very first manicure. My god, I don't think I've done anything half this girly in my life! (But damn my nails look good, so Yay!)
Then it was off to Blockbusters. After much meandering, we settled on a remake of Mysterious Island. I mean, it had Kyle MacLachlan! And Patrick Stewart as Nemo! How could we go wrong?
I have never (NEVER) been so wrong about a movie before in my life.
The fx were awful, the acting horrendous... the only time we weren't trying to claw our eyes out were when Stewart was on screen, which wasn't often enough. After an hour and a half of this torture, we figured there couldn't be much more to it, right? NO! It was a miniseries! *tear* We finally gave up, and we're the queens of bad movies. Hell, we made it through Versus! (Gawd, my eyes burn)
So now I'll watch William Shatner sing to George Lucas over and over again till the memory of that horrid movie's been erased from my mind.
