Goin' with the flow
Nov. 19th, 2006 09:23 pmCZ went to the Renaissance Festival for the first time today.
Now considering how much I love it out there, I've been kind'a worried he'd see just a gaggle of geeks and turn and run... but everything went wonderfully! Right inside the front gate was a little shop with gorgeous homemade guitars. (Needless to say, he made a beeline and was immediately invited behind the counter to try 'em out. Yeah, he was happy.)
Ladydouji met up with us for a bit, which is always fun. There was food on a stick, drum shops, whistles and jewelery and more leather than is probably good for the general cow population... and I found an incredible bottle of Cranberry Mead. (YUM!)
The highlight of the day had to be the music though. There was a belly-dancer doing spins and turns, all the while balancing two scimitars on her head. There was a man standing off to the side playing beautiful music by rubbing crystal glasses tuned with water. And then there was Tartanic. CZ couldn't walk away with less than FOUR of their CDs!
By then both our tootsies were tired, and we were about to head out, but the Mud Show was starting. We had to watch.
Next year promises to be even better. ^_^*V*
