Still standing

It's been a hellish week at work, and it won't get better for a while... but I'm trying to keep on keepin' on. (For those who don't know, my boss had that Lap Band procedure a few years ago. Here lately she'd put back on all the weight she'd lost, and was having severe stomach pain. Turns out the bad ATE THROUGH HER STOMACH and had to come out asap. Only, there was so much scaring from the first procedure they ended up having to cut her all the way open to get it out, cutting out most of her stomach in the process. What was supposed to be a simple, one day procedure ended up with her in ICU for nine days. So it's just me, doing both her and my job for the last two weeks. And probably the next couple as well.)

As part of my desperate weekend to recharge and rest, I met up with Secondmoon at the Alamo to watch Good Luck Chuck. It was mindless pap, but cute... just about what I needed. (Along with the Woodchuck Ale.) And on the way home the song Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic came on, which would make for a perfect vid to the movie. Too bad I barely have time to breath, let alone make a video. :(

It's not good to wish for an accident, just so you don't have to go into work. I though I was through with that when I left the Chronicle... at least I know it's temporary. She will come back eventually.
