That's my boy
Jun. 15th, 2008 11:34 amThe boy came by yesterday. We decided to hit a movie, then go see the Pompeii exhibit at the museum.
First, let me quote his review of Kung Fu Panda: "That didn't suck." I found it an interesting homage to old school kung fu movies, updated for modern expectations.
Then the museum. Chilling. The artistry was amazing, engraved stones the size of my pinky nail in rings with incredible detail... snake bracelets and arm bands that looked so real they could've moved at any moment. I couldn't tell you how many trinkets were shaped like snakes, rings, bracelets, everything. Apparently they thought it represented good luck and resurrection. I looked at the molds of the victims and murmured to the boy "Doesn't look like they did much good." His response? "Well, you don't see any casts of snakes, do you?"
