zebralittle52YAY! The time for RenFair finally came! Lady Douji, Wren and I have been waiting for this for MONTHS!
Determined to put my extra sucky week aside, I hopped in the car and headed for Wren's place, where we three all carpooled up to Plantersville for the Texas Renaissance Festival. YAY pretty boys in tights, YAY belly dancers in skimpy jingly things, YAY meat on a stick!
Alas there weren't as many shirtless boys in wings as there were last year. It was nice and breezy, with an almost chill in the air, so there weren't all that many shirtless boys in no wings either... *pout* BUT! Apparently the "thing" this year was for boys to have their hair done up nicely. Braids, and ribbons, and sparkly silver pigtails. One guy we dubbed "Little Red Riding hood", not only for the red cloak, but the two braids hanging down either side of his chest. And the blonde with the pigtails had Wren wrapped around his little finger. (Lucky Wren! ^_~)
Then Lady Douji decided to buy a belly dancer outfit to take to Y-con. Wren was already done up cutely in a Renaissance shirt and pants of smutting, so that only left me in my normal street attire.
But not for long.
I'd really ducked into the shop to find some nice pants and shirt, like Wren's... when I was done, I looked like some High Seas Pirate Wench. >.<;; Layered skirts, ruffled shirt, black leather hat that's pined up on one side with a loooong plume hanging off, bodice and all.
There are three types of bodice:
Type 1: "Hello. My name is Lady Heather, and there are my breasts."
Type 2: "Hello. My name is Lady Heather, and I see you've already met my breasts."
Type 3: "Hello. I am Lady Heather's breasts. Lady Heather will be along momentarily."
I went with my strengths, and got Type 3.
TPod may have rack, but baby, I've got shelf.
Next on my list is a whip, to wear coiled at my hip... but that can wait for next time.
Now all I need to do if find an anime character who dresses kind of like that, adapt the outfit for cosplay, and I'm set for anything!
